A Boston Tea Party ...(Wanna-be Do-Gooders)

Jobs come in all shapes and sizes. There are CEO’s and there are bus boys. There are private industry jobs and governmental jobs. While all jobs are significant they do carry varying degrees of weight. In many cases the importance of a job is rather inflated if you ask the person doing the job. You can see this over stated impression when listening to anyone working with and/or along side anyone from the United Nations.

Never in the history of “jobdom” is a current agency ever been so pathetic at actually accomplishing something while at the same time believing the agency remains essentially important. When thinking of the U.N., I am often reminded of a Robin Williams comedy skit. Williams would stand on stage and in one of his many different voices proclaim to be a Frenchman. He would announce, “If you cross this line (while pointing to an imaginary line on the floor), there will be war.” He would then pause a minute then take a step back and again announce, “If you cross this line (pointing to a line now a few feet behind the previously line drawn), there will be war.” He would repeat this several times, always retreating while still remaining resolute in his command. Such is the current situation with the United Nations, an agency so over valued while at the same time so incredibly impotent.

How anyone can take anything coming out of the U.N. seriously is beyond my comprehension. I can easily seeing myself jumping out a window from pure frustration would I have to put up with the B.S. which permeates the entire U.N. culture. Our current ambassador to this sad organization of nations realizes the difficulty of getting any results and continues to pound his head against the wall on our nation’s behalf. His re-appointment is again up for debate. Democrats argue that John Bolton has not been able to make progress in negotiating solutions to the many crises around the world. Making progress at the U.N. would make Bolton a nominee for sainthood.

Progress is of course relative. To a Democrat, progress means getting an agreement regardless of whether the agreement is violated or not. Progress to a Democrat is a cease-fire in the Middle East even though all that remains is the status quo. Bush, Rice, and Bolton realize agreements are not worth the paper they are written on if they do not result in a change in the future result. This contrast needs to be emphasized in the coming months leading up to the election in the fall. The United Nations has become nothing more than a freeloading, money stealing, and dependant creating organization of wanna-be do-gooders who are never to be taken seriously. It should be obvious why the Democrats are so in love with the place, neither one gets any results and both are full of worthless rhetoric.
