A Boston Tea Party…(Times Sure Have Changed)

My history books taught me during WW I and WW II Americans fought as one. Whether you were a soldier, a politician, or a civilian, you pulled for America’s success. It didn’t matter if you were flying a military plane, working on a farm, working in a factory, or working in a bank, victory was the ultimate goal. Both Republicans and Democrats in those days knew freedom and liberty hung on the outcomes of these wars. Country always came before politics.

Contrast that patriotism with what we see today. It’s embarrassing to see the disappointment in the eyes of the far left as “Newsweek” retracted their report that American guards had flushed a Koran down a toilet. It’s so obvious the far left takes pleasure in America’s losing. I’m convinced they would prefer America lose the war against terrorism just so President Bush fails.

The far left doesn’t believe one single word Bush says, but automatically accepts the word of any terrorist prisoner. We see this by them saying, “Well maybe no source will confirm what “Newsweek” is reporting, but many other media outlets had previously reported similar Koran disgraces”. It so happens those instances were told to reporters by the Islamic prisoners. Hence, prisoners speak the truth but our President lies. We don’t hear one word from the left questioning whether the “Newsweek” report should have been printed even if it were true. Nor will the far left bring up the subject of why the world is willing to accept Muslims killing people in protest. I’m quite certain if Irish Catholics protested in a similar fashion, they would be heavily criticized by the media.

Journalistic integrity isn’t a concern of the fringe left when it comes to a Republican President. For them politics comes before country. If it takes America losing when Republicans are in charge, so be it. Losing can mean economically, or in stature, even with the lives of soldiers, or innocent citizens. This is what sets many of today’s Democrats apart from Republicans. A Republican would never put politics before country during times of war. A Republican would never sacrifice the success of his/her country just to have a Democratic President look bad. The actions of so many Democrats during this war show us times sure have changed and America suffers because of it.
